The Twitch Keynote kicked off at 10am this morning. If you are attending TwitchCon, and didn’t go to the keynote you missed a lot of great information that will benefit you in the future. Below is the recap of what DJ Wheat and Twitch Co-Founder Emmett Shear discussed. Take a look at the photos and recap below.
Keynote opening with DJ Wheat:
DJ Wheat discussed the history of video game streaming, sharing his personal experience through out the years. We took some photos during the presentation, it was really heartfelt, and a great opening to TwitchCon!
Emmett Shear talks future of Twitch:
Emmett Shear followed DJ Wheat with what to expect from Twitch in the near future. He announced Whispers 2.0, a new messaging series for Twitch that will feature buddy list systems along with a new interface when direct messaging.
Twitch is re-creating the Playstation 4 app with an easier interface, they gave a preview of the new UI which can be seen in the photos below. This will make it easier for Playstation 4 users to stream to Twitch, similar to the Xbox One Twitch app.
The biggest takeaway from the Twitch Keynote was HTML5 player will be available early 2016, along with a new video uploading section. Limited information was shared, but stay tuned we are sure a press release will be announced soon.
