Twitch Updates Banned Words Filter Feature

In every tree, there’s a bad apple. Sometimes when Twitch chat gets out of hand it is important to have banned words that are automatically removed when typed out. Streamers use this feature so that they can remove toxicity in their chat or protect there personal identity, mainly. Today Twitch updated their Banned Words section by adding a few new features. The biggest feature being the wildcard asterisk:

“If you have a wildcard “*” at the start or end of a word, it will match any characters there. Filtered words are replaced with ***.”

Login to Twitch, go to profile settings and you will see it in your dashboard.
