Late last night a few tweets surfaced about a new HTML 5 video player Twitch was testing out to 2% of their users. They have officially announced the new video player select viewers have been seeing.
The redesign moves half of the video player from flash to HTML5 and Javascript, specially the controls. The video is still in flash underneath the controls, but this is a closer step to a full HTML 5 video player that we’ve been waiting for.
For now it is still limited to certain users, Twitch will eventually roll the new player out, just be patient they are releasing the player at a steady pace.
