As mentioned on their blog, Twitch has filed formal complaints against several view-bot, follow-bot, and chat-bot websites.
Many users implement these services to artificially inflate their follow/view numbers in hopes of acquiring a partnership. The impacts, however, are hurtful for everyone, especially the integrity of Twitch’s community.
Twitch already reviews botting reports on a case by case basis alongside their in-house detection system. The lawsuit is a means of taking the next step in preventing further sales of these unethical services.
