The Twitch Community Raises More Than 17 Million For Charity in 2015

2015 was a huge year for Twitch, but what really stands out is the amount money the community has raised for multiple charities. Twitch released an infographic on their blog today, the community raised a breathtaking $17.4 million in charitable donations this year. There is nothing more inspiring than seeing a community as large as Twitch’s come together and do so much for so many great causes. Below is a breakdown of some of the charities over the past year along with the infographic.

Charity Donations (via Twitch Blog):

  • 25 individual fundraisers that raised over $50,000 each
  • More than 60 that raised over $1,000
  • Extra Life: $7 million-plus for Children’s Miracle Network
  • Games Done Quick: $2.8 million-plus for the Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders
  • Gaming for Good: $1.3 million-plus for Save the Children
  • Yogscast Jingle Jam 2015: estimated $1 million-plus for 7 different charities (still ongoing)
  • St. Jude Play Live: $950,000+ for St. Jude
