Everyone should use 2 Factor Authentication if it is available. Discord stepped up their security measures by making both IP location lock and 2-factor authentication available to all users.
If you have a Discord account with a verified e-mail all users are automatically protected by their IP location lock.

To enable two-factor authentication:
- Turn on Two Factor in User Settings -> Security
- Download an authentication program like Googles Authenticator for iOS or Android or Authy
- Hook up your Discord account to the app you downloaded with a QR code scan or by manually entering a code
- Enjoy secure Discord access that requires you to enter a code from your phone when you try to log in
